Humans are amazingly resilient. When we have access to full information, we figure things out pretty quickly. Some of this info is not readily available to those who are not looking deeper into the media story. Research is required to get a fuller picture of what we are all dealing with not just on a global level, but a personal one as well.
Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer star in the 1944 film, Gaslight. Watch the trailer at the link to get a feel for the movie that inspired the term. The American Psychological Association defines gaslighting as "manipulation so extreme as to induce mental illness." It is now defined as to "make someone question their reality."

I admit to being a “go along to get along” person for much of my young life on into early adulthood. I had questions back then but did not desire to stir the pot and put myself in the light of my family's attention. Now that I have dumped much of my childhood trauma and baggage, I find my voice has taken wings thanks to my love of writing and the internet. I am now compelled to speak my questions in the public square, which at this time is social media and my personal blog.
I have never been fond of diamonds. I enjoy color. Give me sapphires, emeralds, opals, and rubies! These gems make my eyes light up. My second marriage produced a husband determined to put a diamond on my hand. I acquiesced, though my heart wasn't in it. I chose a ring where the engagement and wedding bands intertwined with a small diamond in the center and four tiny diamonds placed above and below the twisting gold.
"Don't take any wooden nickels!" That was the saying years ago that meant be cautious in your interactions, business dealings, and purchases. A wooden nickel was a token or scrip that was redeemable for specific items depending on who issued it. In the early days of American expansion, companies would issue paper scrip or tokens as part of their payout of wages to employees.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention along with Don't Spit into the Wind are the two sayings that I feel characterize the coming years after our recent break with reality. Coming to a hard stop across the planet has induced a kind of time-warp and re-evaluation of our individual circumstances. Since gathering in groups is frowned upon right now, looking into the depths of our psyche is nearly our only option. I also think it is long overdue.
Do you remember The Sneetches of Dr. Seuss fame? It was written in 1961 and intended to be a satire of discrimination between races and cultures. When I look at the news or read an online paper, it seems we are living as either the "star-bellied Sneetch" or the "ones without stars upon thars." The polarity on any issue or between groups has risen to maddening levels...
Now we can hop down a few levels from the Galactic View of this upgrade project to examine the human collective. I mentioned in the previous post that humans are going through an upgrade in our DNA. The journey of the universe is cyclic. Everything begins with a pinpoint-an idea or concept- then spirals up and out. On this path, periodic upgrades occur to push things along so that stagnation doesn’t set in and other opportunities can be experienced.
